Q&A:
What would be your media of choice (digital or film)?
Digital
What would you consider your first big break in the business?
I had a pretty big year in 2006-2007 and had several photos published in print and online. Full page in SKIER magazine was
probably the first big publication I had.
What was your most challenging assignment?
Shooting surf in the rain in New York (Long Beach) and trying to make it looks like it’s not raining, and not in
New York.
What is your funniest photo experience?
Whenever I shoot with athletes I know. Always fun to work with friends.
What was your 'assignment from hell'?
): Shooting parties or nightclubs for friends. Not doing that anymore.
What is the most exotic location you've shot in?
Hawaii, best place to shoot ever.
What was your biggest photo mistake?
Probably a classic, no memory card, or forgetting to check my ISO.
Your idea of the "dream assignment"?
Olympic games, surfing in Costa Rica, something along those lines.
What three photographers do you most admire:
Bernard Brault, Clark Little, Robert Beck.
Your top three photo tips:
1.Know the sports you are shooting. In sports it’s not so much about your photographer skills but really
about knowing what the “right” position the athlete has to be in for the shot to look good. 2. Be patient 3. Shoot
what you like the most.
If you could change your profession what would it be?
You don’t change a dream job. A passion is a passion.
Your advise to aspiring photographers:
Patience, try, fail, try again, and learn from your failure. Don’t delete on your camera, you never know what it might
come up as when you look on your computer.
