DAYMEN ACQUIRES ACME MADE AND THEIR FASHIONABLE LINE-UP OF PROTECTIVE BAGS AND CASES FOR IMAGING, LAPTOP AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
Market leaders and trend setters, Acme Made will design cases and bags to match any style from Hollywood to the Himalayas
MARKHAM,
ON – DayMen Canada, manufacturer of Lowepro products and leading distributor of imaging, laptop and other
electronic protective equipment brands has reached an agreement to acquire Acme Made, a company specializing in innovative
designer business cases, totes, laptop cases and accessories.
"We are extremely excited about adding Acme Made as a sister brand to Lowepro and our other products," said Ron McKerron, General Manager and Senior VP of DayMen. "This acquisition will enable us to expand the DayMen brand portfolio to include premier-level products that are considered the 'must-have' bags for design-conscious people on the move.”
Acme Made got its start by establishing the category of designer laptop cases when it debuted in 2002. The company's products have a distinctive look derived from clean, architectural styling, designer textiles and innovative high-tech materials which create popular products that expand the limits of "designed protection." In addition to its signature line of bags and accessories, Acme Made further aligns with DayMen by offering modern cases for digital cameras, smart phones and portable MP3 players.
Currently, Acme Made products are available in Canada on-line at www.AcmeMade.com or at Nicholas Randall Limited, Victoria, Inform Interiors and Paper Ya, Vancouver, Hollace Cluny and Laywines, Toronto, Switch, Surrey and U.N. Luggage, Wininpeg. New inventory will arrive in Canada ready for sale in the early fall. Acme Made products are also sold worldwide at better department stores such as Bloomingdales; trendy upscale boutiques like Fred Segal in Hollywood, Composition in Denver and Stitch in Chicago; as well as in fine luggage stores, such as Flight 001, and Per Tutti of New York.
"DayMen and Acme Made are a perfect match on many levels," said Kirk Thornby, co-founder of Acme Made. "Both companies are passionate about finding new ways to transport the sometimes cumbersome, but essential, components of today's digital lifestyle. DayMen’s Lowepro brand is synonymous with the protection of digital imaging equipment, and its reputation for quality and design is unrivalled. Acme Made is equally known for their ability to design bags that are ultra-stylish and highly functional. Together, DayMen and Acme Made will reach a remarkably broad audience of technology users while meeting the needs of today's modern lifestyle."
